Parts of Muskegon's Lakeshore Drive CLOSED for construction starting Monday

Get ready - construction season in the city of Muskegon gets into full swing next week, and this new project could affect you.

Starting Monday, the city will reconstruct a portion of Lakeshore Drive between McCracken and Laketon Avenue.

Phase one - Lakeshore westbound traffic will be open but one lane only, while eastbound will be closed with a detour that takes you to Lincoln, to Sherman, to Barclay and then back onto Lakeshore... and this will go into July.

Phase two - Lakeshore westbound and eastbound traffic returns to “normal” while the project finishes up.

Expect to see more parking along that stretch, too... and that will be good for business.

Other construction project that will impact our area this summer, according to iHeartRadio’s Kevin Richards, include Holton Road (M-120) between US-31 and Whitehall Road, where reconstruction between Getty Street and Russell Road, similar to the work between Russell and Whitehall in 2018.

Construction is already underway on 96 both ways near Nunica just east of 112th Avenue at the bridges over Crockery Creek; one lane both ways until late June.

As always, listen to 107MUS the Moose for traffic updates.
