Heads up, friends - there's more road construction coming that will affect us drivers along the lakeshore.
In Grand Haven, MDOT says US-31 southbound AND northbound from Harbor Island Drive to Savidge Street will be closed for construction through Thursday morning at 6am.
In Muskegon, M-46 (Apple Avenue) eastbound from Roberts Street to Evart Street, the right lane is closed for work, and is expected to be through May 17th.
The project that affects the biggest amount of drivers - near Nunica, 96 eastbound from Meink Road to 96th Avenue, lanes will be closed for construction. There is a lane shift that comes with that, and that project is expected to go through June 25th.
If you commute from the Lakeshore to Grand Rapids, there's another snag for you - 96 eastbound from 16th Avenue to Bristol Avenue, you'll find one lane closed for construction, and that's expected to go through April 23rd.
One more project remains to be discussed - north of Muskegon, Holton Road (M-120) between US-31 and Whitehall Road, the reconstruction between Getty Street and Russell Road (similar to the work between Russell and Whitehall in 2018) is due to begin soon says iHeartRadio's traffic expert Kevin Richards but MDOT has not announced those work dates yet. We'll update you as soon as we know.
