Lyft Driver Saves Elderly Woman Who Missed Her Pickup

A Philadelphia Lyft driver is being hailed as a hero after she saved the life of an elderly passenger who failed to come outside when she arrived. Clara Simmons was dispatched to pick up 86-year-old Millicent Hill and became concerned when the woman did not answer repeated knocks on her door.

Simmons heard dogs barking and felt that something was wrong, so she called 911. When firefighters arrived, they found Hill had fallen in her bathtub and was unable to get up.

"When I got ready to get out, I slipped in the tub. My feet went up, and I couldn't get out," Hill told KYW-TV.

Hill lives alone and there was nobody around to hear her screams for help.

"I kept praying. I just kept praying that somebody would come and get me out of there," Hill told ABC 6.

Her prayers were answered by Simmons, who says that she trusted her gut and was glad that she was able to help.

"I have not had one bad passenger experience and that by far was the most fulfilling, joyful experience that I have had," said Simmons.

Hill was not seriously injured in the fall, but if it were not for Simmons, she would still be trapped in the tub.

"I know they saved my life because I would have been in there," Hill said.
