Zach Braff & Donald Faison Know Nothing Worth Having Comes Easy

On this episode of Fake Doctors, Real Friends, Zach Braff and Donald Faison get into the really important stuff, like how hard it is to have a bowel movement in a public restroom, the time Zach vomited “like a firehose” in a dumpster outside a fancy restaurant in New York, the important role Donald’s compression shorts played when Turk was naked on the floor in a fetal position, how crazy Hooch turned out to be, and how it felt to not know what Google was back in the day. Plus, lots of Star Wars and Disneyland talk, movie reviews, learning what a graphic designer does on the set of a film or TV show, and why Hollywood should still be shooting in Georgia despite the controversial voting laws.

Turk and Carla are truly on the verge of splitting up on this episode of Scrubs; Zach and Donald talk about how much fun they had shooting their cocktail scene at the party and why Turk decided to sleep through his lunch meeting with Carla. It wasn’t so much his “hangover that could kill a walrus;” “he didn’t even want to try anymore,” Donald says. But then Dr. Kelso is talking to a woman about getting a gastric bypass, and says to her, “Nothing worth having comes easy.” Donald thinks that’s the moment when Turk decides to join Carla at the gravesite; they don’t get back together yet, but he shows up for her and decides to keep fighting.

That’s something of an unintentional theme of this podcast, because then Shawn McBee, the graphic designer for PowerPuff Girls reboot as well as the host of the Table Reads podcast, joins the show to talk to Zach and Donald. He tells them all about what his job as a film and TV graphic designer entails (everything from creating fake product labels and newspapers to creating presentation boards for network pitch meetings), and ends his interview with a plea for them to use their voices to keep Hollywood from boycotting Georgia. “Stay and fight,” he urges – because nothing worth having comes easy. Hear the entire conversation, including the story of why Zach missed his own 40th birthday party, why Donald loves the “It’s a Small World” ride, and so much more on this episode of Fake Doctors, Real Friends.
